Adobe Marketo Engage

An overview of Marketo's AI & Agentic Features

Distilled from the 2025–2026 roadmap releases.

Part 1.  Agentic AI & The New Conversational Interface

1.  Marketo AI

Marketo AI capabilities are designed to improve the speed, quality, and scalability of Marketing Operations by automating campaign creation, QA, lead imports, and data normalisation.

Upcoming enhancements will also enable AI-assisted lifecycle investigation, automated program planning and build, and real-time data processing within Smart Campaigns, helping reduce manual effort and improve operational efficiency across campaign execution and lead management.

2.  MCP Server for Marketo Engage

The upcoming Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server will enable secure integration between Marketo and external AI tools such as Claude and Microsoft Copilot, allowing teams to execute AI-driven workflows directly within Marketo. This will support secure, cross-platform automation and enable Marketing Operations teams to build custom AI workflows with minimal developer involvement.

3.  AI Assistant for Product Knowledge

New users no longer need to dig through documentation or message a Marketo expert. The AI Assistant lives inside the platform and answers plain-English questions with step-by-step instructions grounded in official Adobe documentation.

Part 2. Email, Content & GenAI

4.  New Email Designer + AI Content Accelerator

The new drag-and-drop Email Designer replaces the legacy editor across all program types (Engagement, Default, Event). The built-in AI Content Accelerator acts as a co-writer for every email you build.

5.  GenStudio Integration: On-Brand Content at Scale

Adobe GenStudio enables marketing teams to create, localise, and optimise on-brand email and landing page content using AI, with approved assets seamlessly imported into Marketo campaigns. Integrated with Adobe Express and Adobe Experience Manager, it helps streamline content production while maintaining brand consistency across regions and channels.

6. Interactive Webinars: GenAI Post-Event Engine

AI-powered webinar enhancements in Marketo transform on-demand recordings into scalable lead generation assets through automated chaptering, AI-generated summaries and FAQs, and detailed engagement tracking. Webinar interaction data — including attendance, viewing behaviour, and chapter engagement — automatically syncs into Marketo programs and scoring models, with enhanced dashboards and extended data retention improving visibility and reporting.

Part 3. Journey Intelligence & Predictive Audiences

These are the features that make campaigns smarter: predicting who to target, what content will convert, and how to route leads to sales at exactly the right moment.

7. Journey Agent: AI-Assisted Journey Builder

Journey Agent enables marketing teams to build and optimise adaptive, AI-driven nurture journeys from simple prompts using a visual canvas. Journeys dynamically respond to buyer behaviour and intent signals in real time, while AI continuously recommends performance improvements and provides on-demand journey insights without manual reporting.

8. Predictive Audiences and AI Powered lead scoring

Predictive Audiences uses Adobe Sensei to score and predict a contact’s likelihood to engage, register, or convert, enabling marketers to build high-intent segments within Marketo. This allows campaigns to focus on smaller, more relevant audiences, improving performance, reducing send fatigue, and strengthening deliverability.

In parallel, AI-powered lead scoring analyses behavioural, demographic, and firmographic data in real time to identify and prioritise high-value leads for sales engagement. Each lead is assigned a predictive score and qualification insight, helping sales teams focus on the most likely opportunities without relying on manually maintained scoring models. These capabilities can also be extended through custom machine learning models or external platforms for advanced use cases.

9. Predictive Content

AI-powered content recommendations use machine learning to automatically deliver the most relevant and highest-converting content across web, landing pages, and email based on individual behaviour and historical performance. Supporting both known contacts and anonymous visitors, the capability also identifies trending content to help marketers surface high-performing assets more effectively.

10. AI-Powered Lead Scoring (Adobe Sensei)

Adobe Sensei analyses historical conversion data and behavioural signals to produce a predictive score for every lead in the system.

  • Inputs: Firmographics, behavioural signals (form fills, pricing page visits, email engagement), demographic data: all fed to the AI model simultaneously.
  • Output: A 0–100 predictive score with a confidence interval (e.g., score of 85 ± 5%): not a fixed point total.
  • Adaptable: The model updates continuously as new engagement happens: doesn't require manual campaign maintenance.
  • Sales handoff: AI-qualified leads arrive in the sales queue with a written explanation of why they qualified and which products are most relevant.
  • Build options: Use Adobe Sensei natively, or integrate a custom ML model (AWS SageMaker, etc.) via webhook.

Part 4. Dynamic Chat & Conversational Marketing

11. Dynamic Chat: AI Conversational Chatbot

Dynamic Chat has evolved into an AI-powered conversational marketing engine that qualifies website visitors, personalises conversations using firmographic data, and books meetings directly within chat while handing complex queries to live agents when required.

It is trained on internal sales and product knowledge, integrates with data sources like Demandbase for account-level personalisation, and uses Smart Lists and Marketo context to tailor conversations. All engagement data—including chats, qualification signals, and bookings—syncs back into Marketo to enhance lead scoring and lifecycle tracking.

Part 5. Data Foundation & CRM Sync

12. New Salesforce CRM Sync Dashboard

The rebuilt Marketo Salesforce connector improves sync speed, reliability, and transparency between systems, enabling near real-time data flow with higher throughput and reduced lag. A new admin dashboard provides full visibility into sync health, errors, and performance issues, allowing teams to proactively monitor and resolve data flow problems with Salesforce.

13. Data Streams: Real-Time Event Streaming

Marketo Data Streams enable real-time, event-driven data sharing by pushing key marketing and behavioural events to external systems as they occur via Adobe I/O Events, eliminating the need for scheduled syncs or polling.

This supports high-volume, low-latency data ingestion into platforms like Snowflake, BigQuery, and Redshift, and underpins AI-driven and agentic workflows by providing the real-time data required for accurate decision-making.

14. Advanced BI Analytics (formerly Revenue Explorer)

Marketo Advanced BI Analytics replaces Revenue Cycle Explorer with a faster, more flexible reporting and visualisation layer, enabling deeper insight into program performance, pipeline contribution, and lifecycle progression. It provides a unified report builder with richer visualisations, granular funnel and cohort analysis, and improved performance for end-to-end lifecycle tracking and conversion reporting.
